Contact supervision is a crucial aspect of my services, aimed at ensuring safety while building and sustaining positive relationships between children and their parents or other significant individuals in a safe manner. I take pride in my responsibility to ensure a child's safety and well-being are at the core of contact supervision.
Having major studies in Positive Parenting and Child Development, counselling in abuse and counselling in addictions, coupled with experience as a contact supervisor, solidify my efficiency in child safeguarding, assessing parenting types, child temperament, and promoting effective parenting practices.
My service is grounded in well-established research highlighting the importance of healthy and continuing relationships between children and both parents, extended family, and significant others after separation and supported by proven knowledge of Child Development, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Diversity and Anti-discriminatory practice, recognising the emotional effects of divorce on children and understanding abusive behaviours.
My approach focuses on safety, maintaining attachment bonds, promoting a sense of identity, and establishing supportive links crucial for the child's development and future.
When supervising contact, I am trained to intervene immediately and firmly if necessary. My role is that of a "container-contained," attuned and responsive to emotional reactions, while providing support, warmth, receptivity, and calmness. This ensures the containment and diffusion of troubling behaviours and negative feelings, maximising the positive impact of supervised contact sessions.
